Cheese Toast Racks Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 x 10 oz packet white bread mix | ||
| 2 oz mature Cheddar cheese, finely grated | ||
| Parmesan cheese | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Warm water | 1/3 Pint | |
| Butter | 1 1/2 Ounce | |
| Mustard | 1/2 Teaspoon, made | |
Directions
Tip the bread mix into a bowl. Add the cheeses and mix with the warm water, according to the packet instructions. Knead for 5 minutes. Cut the dough in half, knead lightly and roll out each half to a 23 cm (9 inch) square.
Melt the butter with the mustard and brush half over the squares. Cut each square into 5 strips and stack these on top of each other. With a sharp knife, cut both stacks into four. Hold each quarter, cut side uppermost, and pinch the bases together. Press down well into greased deep bun tins. Prove, covered, in a warm place for about 45 minutes or until doubled in size.
Brush with the remaining butter mixture and bake in a preheated hot oven (220°C/425°F, Gas Mark 7) for about 25 minutes or until they sound hollow when tapped. Makes 8
