Cheese Tempters Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 bar (1/4-lb.) butter or margarine | ||
| 1/2 pound grated sharp cheese | ||
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Cayenne pepper | 1 Dash | |
| 1 cup, plus 2 tablespoons flour, sifted before measuring | ||
| Pecan halves | ||
Directions
MAKING
1. Take a mixing bowl, add margarine or butter and soften slightly. Mix salt, cheese and cayenne to softened butter or margarine and blend thoroughly. Stir in flour and make 3 rolls from the dough, each with a 1.5 inch diameter.
2. Take a waxed paper, arrange the balls, wrap them and place in the refrigerator overnight to chill.
FINALIZING
3. Preheat oven to 375°F before serving.
4. Slice the chilled rolls into 1.8 inch pieces, arrange on ungreased cook sheets, top with a pecan half and bake for 11 to 13 minutes or till edges turn slightly brown.
