Cheese Soup With Condiments Recipe
Ingredients
2 tablespoons chopped onion
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
2 chicken bouillon cubes
6 cups milk
1 1/4 cups shredded sharp yellow cheese
Pinch of dry mustard
Salt, pepper, paprika
Condiments:
chopped green pepper, thin pi-miento strips, toasted slivered almonds, crumbled crisp bacon, buttered popcorn
Directions
In the top of a double boiler over direct heat, saute onion in melted butter until golden.
Stir in flour and bouillon cubes; blend in milk.
Place over hot water and cook until slightly thickened.
Add cheese and mustard and continue cooking until cheese melts, stirring occasionally.
Season to taste with salt, pepper, and paprika.
