Cheese Grits Recipe
Ingredients
| Grits | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Boiling water | 5 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1 1/2 cups grated sharp cheese | ||
| Butter stick | 1 | |
| Eggs | 4 standard | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| 1 teaspoon Lea & Perrins | ||
Directions
Mix grits, salt and water together.
Cook over slow heat for 25-30 minutes.
Stir occasionally.
Remove from stove.
While hot, add cheese.
Stir in butter.
Then stir in 4 well-beaten whole eggs.
Add seasonings and Lea & Perrins.
Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour.
Serves 6 to 8.
It may be prepared a day ahead and baked at the last minute.
Men love this dish.
Serve with grillades and hot fruit salad for brunch.
