Cheese & Grape Puffs Recipe

Ingredients
1 (17-1/4-oz., 489-g) pkg. frozen puff pastry, thawed
2 eggs
3 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon apple pie spice
8 oz. (225 g) Cheddar cheese
4 oz. (100 g) green grapes
4 oz. (100 g) salami or garlic sausage, sliced
Directions
On a lightly floured surface, roll out puff pastry dough to a rectangle about 1/8 inch (3 mm) thick.
Cut into about forty 2-inch (5-cm) squares.
In a small bowl, beat eggs, water, paprika, black pepper and apple pie spice.
Brush some of egg mixture over dough squares.
Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C).
Cut cheese into same number of cubes as you have dough squares.
Halve grapes and remove seeds.
Cut salami or garlic sausage slices into small pieces.
Place a cube of cheese, a grape and a piece of salami or garlic sausage on each dough square.
Bring corners of dough inwards to the center to make an envelope; press together firmly.
Cut small rounds from dough trimmings.
Place rounds over centers of envelopes where corners meet; press to seal.
Brush envelopes with remaining egg mixture.
Sprinkle baking sheets with cold water.
Arrange puffs on dampened baking sheets.
