 2 c. coarse day-old bread crumbs
 Milk2 1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 1 1/2 c. grated, processed American Cheddar cheese
 Salt1/2 Teaspoon
 Cayenne pepper1 Dash
 1 tablesp. bottled thick meat sauce
 Eggs4 , separated

Directions

In preparing crumbs, pull them lightly fromtheloaf of bread with a fork.
Scald milk and let cool.
Then add crumbs, grated cheese, salt, cayenne, and meat sauce.
Slowly stir in the beaten egg yolks.
Then fold in the egg whites, beaten until stiff but not dry.
Pour into a greased or oiled 2 qt casserole.
Set in pan of warm water and bake in a moderate oven of 325°F for 1 1/2 hrs or until fondue is set, and is a delicate brown.
Serve at once.
