Cheese Bread Recipe
Ingredients
| Cheddar cheese/Null | 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs), grated (NULL) | |
| Risen plain white dough | 1⁄2 | |
| Grated cheddar cheese | 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs) | |
| Dry mustard | 1⁄2 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1⁄4 Teaspoon |
Directions
Reserve a little cheese for sprinkling over the top of the loaf or rolls.
Add the remainder with the mustard and pepper to the dough.
Squeeze and knead into; the dough by hand until the cheese is evenly mixed through the dough.
Shape to fit a well greased small 4 1/2 x2 1/2 x1 1/2-inch loaf pan or divide into 8 pieces and shape into rolls.
Brush with milk or egg wash.
Cover and let rise.
Bake the loaf in the center of a hot oven (425°F) for 30-35 minutes and rolls toward the top of the oven for 15-20 minutes.
Sprinkle reserved cheese on top of loaf or rolls 5 minutes before the end of the cooking time.
Turn out and cool on a cake rack.
