Cheese Biscuit Butterflies Recipe
Ingredients
| Flour | 2 Ounce | |
| Mustard - a pinch | ||
| Butter/Margarine | 1 1/2 Ounce | |
| Cheese | 1 1/2 Ounce, finely grated | |
| Egg - yolk , very little, to mix | ||
| Cream cheese or Savoury cheese spread - 2-3 ounce | ||
| Salt and Pepper - as required | ||
| Salt and Pepper - as required | ||
Directions
GETTING READY
1)Preheat the oven at 425-450ºF.
MAKING
1) In a bowl sieve flour along with mustard, salt and pepper.
2) Mix butter or margarine, cheese in the flour.
3)Further bind the batter with egg to achieve a rolling consistency.
4) Knead the dough properly.
5)Roll out the dough to 1/4 inch in thickness.
6)Cut the dough in small round shape about 1-1 1/2 inches in diameter.
7)Further cut half the rounds through the middle to make shape of wings.
8)Bake it at 425-450ºF for 10 minutes.
9) Once it becomes cold, spread cream cheese or savoury cheese across the centre of the round.
FINALIZING
10)Arrange the half circles so that they look like butterfly wings.
TIPS
If the dough needs to be stored before baking then wrap it in polythene or foil.
