Cheese And Date Bread Recipe
Ingredients
| All purpose flour | 8 Ounce | |
| Baking powder | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Dry mustard | 1 Teaspoon | |
| 1/2 teaspoon salt freshly ground black pepper | ||
| Butter/Margarine | 2 Ounce | |
| Cheddar Cheese | 4 Ounce, grated | |
| Pitted dates | 3 Ounce, chopped | |
| Eggs | 2 , beaten | |
| Milk | 1/4 Pint | |
Directions
Sift the flour, baking powder, mustard, salt and pepper into a bowl.
Rub in the butter or margarine.
Stir in the grated cheese and chopped dates.
Set aside 2 teaspoons of the beaten egg for brushing.
Combine the remainder with the milk.
Add to the dry ingredients and beat thoroughly.
Spoon the mixture into a greased and floured 1 lb.

Brush with beaten egg.
Bake in the centre of a moderately hot oven, 375°F, Gas Mark 5 for 45 minutes until golden brown and firm to the touch.
