Cheddar Pear Cobbler Recipe

Ingredients
6 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 can (1 pound, 14 ounces) pear halves
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 1/2 cups buttermilk biscuit mix
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1/3 cup milk
Light cream or table cream
Directions
Mix 4 tablespoons of the sugar, cornstarch and nutmeg in a medium size saucepan.
Drain syrup from pears into a small bowl; stir into cornstarch mixture with lemon juice.
Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils minute; add pears.
Heat very slowly while mixing topping.
Combine biscuit mix, cheese and remaining tablespoons sugar in a medium size bowl; stir in milk until mixture is moist, then beat 20 strokes.
Spoon pear mixture into a baking pan, 8x8x2; drop dough by spoonfuls in 12 mounds on top.
Bake in hot oven (400°) 25 minutes, or until topping is golden.
Spoon into serving dishes; serve warm with cream.
