Cheddar And Cider Fondue Recipe
Ingredients
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm) | |
| Butter | 1 Teaspoon (Leveled) | |
| 3 dl. dry or medium cider | ||
| Mild cheddar cheese | 450 Gram, grated | |
| Cornflour | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Pinch cayenne, salt and nutmeg | ||
Directions
Rub the cut clove of garlic around base and sides of a medium sized saucepan, and then lightly butter the pan.
Reserve 2 tablespoons of the cider, and pour the rest into prepared saucepan.
Heat cider gently until it just begins to steam.
Add cheese, about a tablespoon at a time, stirring in each addition until it melts before adding the next.
Blend cornflour with the 2 tablespoons cider, and stir into cheese mixture.
Season to taste, remembering that cayenne is very hot.
Stir over heat for a further few minutes until mixture is almost boiling, then turn into fondue dish and place over gentle heat.
Serve with squares of toast or bread for dipping.
