| Chavli | 1 Cup (16 tbs) (Black Eyed Pea) | |
| Coconut | 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), grated | |
| Green chilly | 2 Small, chopped | |
| Coriander-jeera powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Mustard seeds | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Jaggery | To Taste | |
| Dessicated coconut | 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), grated and roasted | |
| Onion | 1 Small, chopped | |
| Red chilly powder | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Turmeric powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Oil | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Asafoetida | 1⁄2 Pinch | |
| Amsul | 2 Small (Mangosteen/kokam) | |
| Water | 2 Cup (32 tbs) |
Directions
GETTING READY
1)Soak chavli in water overnight.
MAKING
2)Grind wet and dessicated coconut together and keep it aside.
3)In a pressure cooker heat oil add asafoetida and mustard seeds,let it splutter.Then add chopped onion,once onion becomes translucent add chavli.
4)Add turmeric powder,red chilly powder,coriander jeera powder in it and saute it for 5 minutes.
5)Add water to chavli and let it cook for sometime.Once cooked add grinded coconut mixture,amsul,salt and jaggery.Pressure cook for 20 minutes.
SERVING
6)Serve Chavli Chi Amti hot with chapatti.
