Ingredients

 Chavli1 Cup (16 tbs) (Black Eyed Pea)
 Coconut1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), grated
 Green chilly2 Small, chopped
 Coriander-jeera powder1 Teaspoon
 Mustard seeds1 Teaspoon
 Salt To Taste
 Jaggery To Taste
 Dessicated coconut1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), grated and roasted
 Onion1 Small, chopped
 Red chilly powder2 Teaspoon
 Turmeric powder1 Teaspoon
 Oil2 Teaspoon
 Asafoetida1⁄2 Pinch
 Amsul2 Small (Mangosteen/kokam)
 Water2 Cup (32 tbs)

Directions

GETTING READY
1)Soak chavli in water overnight.

MAKING
2)Grind wet and dessicated coconut together and keep it aside.
3)In a pressure cooker heat oil add asafoetida and mustard seeds,let it splutter.Then add chopped onion,once onion becomes translucent add chavli.
4)Add turmeric powder,red chilly powder,coriander jeera powder in it and saute it for 5 minutes.
5)Add water to chavli and let it cook for sometime.Once cooked add grinded coconut mixture,amsul,salt and jaggery.Pressure cook for 20 minutes.

SERVING
6)Serve Chavli Chi Amti hot with chapatti.
