Chattipathiri Recipe
This is the best ever Chattipathiri I have ever tasted! You have landed in the right place. The Chattipathiri holds a high place in the Indian cuisine. Best enjoyed as a Dessert this recipe was taught to me by a dear friend who also happens to be a great chef. I am certain we both will agree that this Chattipathiri is very scrumptious.
Ingredients
120 g flour (maida)
4 eggs (approximately 50 g) water as required
30 g cashewnuts, fried
30 g sultanas, fried
30 g poppy seeds, roasted
30 g candy sugar
Combine for the egg
Mixture:
200 ml milk
4 eggs
30 g sugar
A few drops rose essence
5 g cardamom powder
For the garnish:
15 ml honey
Directions
Make four thin and large pancakes with the pancake batter.
Grease a cake tin with ghee and place a pancake in it.
Pour 50 ml of the egg mixture over the pancake, along with a small sprinkling of fried cashewnuts, sultanas, roasted poppy seeds and sugar candy.
Place the next pancake over the first and repeat the process till all four pancakes are layered.
Pour the remaining egg mixture on the top of the pile, and sprinkle the rest of the fried cashewnuts, sultanas, poppy seeds and sugar candy.
Serve garnished with honey on top.
