Charlotte S Quick Fruit Dessert Recipe
Ingredients
| Margarine | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Milk | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Brown sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), firmly packed | |
| Whole wheat pastry flour | 1 Cup (16 tbs), unbleached | |
| Baking powder | 1 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Berries | 2 Cup (16 tbs), sliced | |
| 1 teaspoon cinnamon or nutmeg, optional | ||
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°C.
Melt margarine in bottom of 8 x 8-inch pan placed in oven.
Combine milk, sugar, flour, and baking powder.
Stir slightly, just moistening ingredients.
Pour mixture evenly onto melted margarine.
Don't stir.
Pour fruit evenly over batter; push apple slices into batter slightly.
Sprinkle on cinnamon or nutmeg, if desired.
Bake about 1 hour or until done.
Serve hot or cold.
