Ingredients

 Chickpeas1 Cup (16 tbs)
 Onion1 , chopped
 Green chillies4
 Tomatoes1 , chopped
 Garlic – ginger paste1 Teaspoon
 Curd1 Tablespoon
 Gram flour1 Teaspoon
 Mustard seeds1/2 Teaspoon
 Jeera/Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
 Turmeric2 Pinch
 Dhaniya powder - 1 tsp
 Garam masala powder1 Teaspoon
 Black pepper powder1/2 Teaspoon
 Juice of lime - 1 tsp
 Salt and chilly powder - to taste.

Directions

Soak Channa overnight or for at least 8 hrs.

Pressure cook Channa up to 3 whistles.

Add oil in a skillet, when hot, add mustard seeds & allow them to splutter. Then add jeera seeds , onions, ginger garlic paste, chillies & saute until onions turn brownish.

Add curds, dhaniya, turmeric, chilli powder & salt

Add chopped tomato, besan & little water & mix well. Cover with lid.

Let boil until mixture becomes like a puree, then add channa & mix well.

Add little water if needed & bring to boil.

Sprinkle Black pepper powder & add lemon juice & simmer for two minutes

Serve Hot.

This looks delicious. Instructions are detailed and clear. Channa aks Kabuli Channa aka Garbanzos Bean aka Chick Peas are very popular not only in South Asia but Mexico too. This classic Indian style is well worth a try for anyone.
