Chana Dal Soup Recipe
Ingredients
| 3/4 cup channa dhal | ||
| Butter | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Onion | 1 , chopped | |
| 1 teaspoon tamarind water | ||
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| 4 koftas or pieces of fried bread | ||
| Turmeric powder | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Curry leaves | 8 | |
Directions
Soak the channa dhal in water for an hour.
Into eight cups of boiling water, put the channa dhal and onion.
Cook on a moderate fire for about an hour till the dhal becomes quite soft.
Then mash and rub it through a sieve.
Add butter, salt, turmeric powder and curry leaves to the strained dhal.
Boil for five minutes and then add tamarind.
Simmer for a few more minutes.
When serving, add two koftas in each bowl.
This soup serves two persons.
