Cauliflower With Bread Crumbs Recipe

Cauliflower with breadcrumbs is a simple cauliflower recipe. Cooked in water, the cauliflower is served with a margerine cooked breadcrumbs and chopped egg white mix. Seasoned to taste, it can be served with roasts or bakes.

Ingredients

 
1 medium size head cauliflower
 
1 large hard cooked egg white
 
2 tablespoons minced parsley
 
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
 
1 tablespoon unsalted margarine
 
2 tablespoons fine dry bread crumbs

Directions

In a large heavy saucepan, bring an inch of unsalted water to a boil; add the cauliflower and cook, covered, over moderate heat for 20 minutes or until just tender.
Meanwhile, finely chop the hard cooked egg white and mix it with the parsley and pepper in a small bowl; set aside.
In a heavy 7 inch skillet, melt the margarine over moderate heat; add the bread crumbs and cook, stirring, for 1 to 2 minutes or until golden brown.
Set aside.
When the cauliflower is tender, drain it, transfer to a small heated platter, and sprinkle with the egg mixture and the bread crumbs.
