Ingredients

 2 tablespoons shortening 1/4
 3 medium potatoes,diced 3 carrots,diced
 1 small white turnip,diced
 Parsley2 Tablespoon, chopped
 1 1/2 pounds lean uncooked lamb 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
 1 1/2 pounds lean uncooked lamb 1 1/2 teaspoons salt

Directions

Cut lamb in 1-inch cubes.
Combine seasonings and flour.
Toss well with lamb cubes.
Heat shortening in frying pan.
Add lamb, and cook until light brown, stirring 2 or 3 times.
Add onion, and cook until golden, stirring occasionally.
Turn into 2-quart casserole, and add enough boiling water to cover lamb.
Cover, and bake at 350°F. 70 minutes.
Add potatoes, carrots and turnip, and cook 30 minutes longer or until vegetables are tender.
Garnish with parsley.
