 Onion1 Large, sliced
 Butter/Margarine1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 Carrots6 Medium, peeled
 Apple slices2 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), drained
 Sugar1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 Salt1/4 Teaspoon
 Ground sage1/4 Teaspoon
 Ground nutmeg1/8 Teaspoon

Directions

Cook onion in butter for 5 minutes.
Cut carrots crosswise into 4 pieces each.
Add to onion mixture with remaining ingredients.
Cover and cook over low heat for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
Serve with pork or other meats.
