Carob Nut Brownies Recipe
Ingredients
| Butter | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Honey | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/3 cup brown sugar or date sugar | ||
| Egg | 1 | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Pure vanilla extract | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Ground coriander | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Carob powder | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Vegetable oil | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Whole wheat pastry flour | 2/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Baking powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Nuts | 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
Directions
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
2. Cream the butter with the honey and the sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, salt, vanilla, and coriander. Mix the carob powder with the oil and beat into the butter mixture.
3. Sift the flour with the baking powder and stir into the carob mixture. Stir in the nuts. Spread the batter in a 9-inch square pan lined with wax paper. Bake for 30 minutes.
4. Cool in the pan and cut into squares while still warm.
