Carob Mousse Recipe
Carob Mousse is a better mood elevator than a bar of chocolate! Carob Mousse goes perfectly as Dessert. It is a staple food of the French people which has now gained popularity the world over. Make this Carob Mousse popular amongst your friends and let them know how good it tastes.
Ingredients
6 eggs, separated
1 6-ounce package carob chips
1 to 2 tablespoons orange liqueur (optional)
Whipped cream (garnish)
Finely ground almonds or almond slivers (garnish)
Directions
Beat egg yolks until thick and yellow.
Melt carob chips over hot water in double boiler, stirring to avoid sticking.
As soon as carob is fully melted, mix with beaten yolks and stir until smooth.
Add liqueur.
Beat whites until very stiff and carefully fold into carob mixture.
Spoon into dessert dishes and chill to set, at least 4 hours.
Remove from refrigerator just before serving.
Top with whipped cream and almonds.
