Caraway Kringles Recipe
Ingredients
1/4 pound butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 teaspoons caraway seeds
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons brandy
Confectioners' sugar
Directions
Beat the butter and sugar together until creamy.
Beat in the egg, then the caraway seeds.
Sift the flour with the baking powder and salt; blend in alternately with the brandy.
Chill 2 to 3 hours.
Roll out on a lightly floured board to 1/8 inch thickness.
Cut with a star-shaped cookie cutter.
Transfer the stars to an ungreased baking sheet, spacing them 1 inch apart.
Dust the tops generously with confectioners' sugar put through a sieve.
Bake in a 375° oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until lightly browned.
