Caramelized Onion And Sausage Pizza Recipe
Ingredients

| Dried oregano | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| 1 red bell pepper, seeded and thinly sliced | ||
| 1/4 pound sweet Italian sausage | ||
| 1 (10-ounce) pre-baked whole-wheat pizza crust, such as Boboli | ||
| 1 cup fat-free ricotta cheese | ||
| 1/2 cup shredded fat-free mozzarella cheese | ||
| Parmesan cheese | 2 Tablespoon, grated | |
| Black olives | 2 Tablespoon, thinly sliced | |
Directions
1. Preheat the oven to 450°F. Spray a baking sheet with non-stick spray.
2. Heat the oil in a medium non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onions, sugar, oregano, and salt; cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions soften, about 3 minutes. Add the bell pepper and cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions are golden, about 8-9 minutes.
3. Place the sausage in a small nonstick skillet and add 1/2 inch water.
Place over medium-high heat; cook, turning the sausage occasionally, until the water evaporates. Continue cooking until the sausage is browned, about 3 minutes longer; transfer to a cutting board and cut the sausage into thin slices.
4. Place the pizza crust on the baking sheet. Spread with the ricotta cheese, leaving a Winch border around the edge. Top with the onion mixture, mozzarella cheese, sausage, and Parmesan cheese. Bake until the cheese is melted and bubbly, about 10-12 minutes. Sprinkle with the olives and cut into 6 wedges.
