Vanilla Caramel Squares Recipe
Caramel squares are vanilla and brown sugar desserts. Prepared by creaming butter and sugar with eggs and vanilla, the caramel squares are baked in the oven and can be served as mini desserts.
Ingredients

| Brown sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Egg yolk | 1 | |
| Vanilla | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Pastry flour | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), sifted | |
| Baking powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon |
Directions
Cream butter and sugar.
Add egg yolk and vanilla.
Sift flour and baking powder and salt.
Add to creamed mixture.
This makes a crumbly mixture.
Spread in a greased 8 inch square pan.
Press down evenly.
