Caramel Fluff Pie Recipe
Caramel fluff pie is a sweet frozen pie made with a gingersnap crust. Made with pecan nuts, heavy cream, caramel and milk and flavored with vanilla, the caramel pie has a wonderful balance of sweet and nutty flavor.
Ingredients
| Vanilla caramels | 1⁄2 Pound | |
| Milk | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1 Dash | |
| Unflavored gelatin | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Cold water | 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) | |
| Heavy cream | 1 Cup (16 tbs), whipped | |
| Chopped pecans | 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
| Vanilla | 1 Teaspoon | |
| 9 inch gingersnap crust | 1 | |
| Pecan halves | 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) |
Directions
Melt caramels in milk in top of double boiler over boiling water, stirring occasionally.(Or heat over low heat, stirring constantly.)
Add salt.
Soften gelatin in cold water; add to caramels; stir to dissolve.
Chill till mixture mounds slightly when dropped from spoon.
Fold in whipped cream, chopped nuts, and vanilla.
Fill crust; trim top with pecans.
Chill 2 to 3 hours or till firm.
