Caramel Flan Recipe
This Caramel Flan recipe begs to differ from the usual ones you are literally bored of trying! I have given this Caramel Flan a faint liqueur touch and then a fruity orange feel to make it a lipsmackingly delicious dessert! Give it a try and I am sure you are sure gonna be in love with this easy flan recipe.
Ingredients
| Milk | 2 3/4 Cup (16 tbs), scalded | |
| Rind of 1/2 orange, grated | ||
| Cinnamon stick | 1 | |
| Eggs | 4 standard | |
| Egg yolks | 4 | |
| Dark rum | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) (Caramel:) | |
| Water | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) (Caramel:) | |
Directions
Make the caramel by heating the sugar in water until it dissolves.
Bring the mixture to a boil and boil until it turns a deep gold colour.
Remove from heat and pour into 1 1/2 quart baking dish, covering the whole bottom of dish.
Cool.
Beat all the remaining ingredients together and pour into baking dish.
Set baking dish into another dish partially filled with hot water.
Bake at 350°F for 11/2 hours.
Serve warm.
Loosen with a knife and turn out onto a shallow serving dish.
