Caramel Apple Ring Recipe

Ingredients

 
2 tblspns, butter
 
pinch salt
 
4 tblspns, brown sugar
 
1 dssrtspn. sugar
 
8 oz. self-raising flour
 
1 more tblspn, butter
 
1/2-tspn. grated lemon rind
 
3/4-cup milk
 
1/2-tspn. cinnamon
 
extra 2 tblspns.brown sugar
 
11/2-cups cooked apple pulp

Directions

Cream butter and brown sugar.
Spread over base and sides of 8" ring tin.
Prepare dough by sifting flour, salt and sugar into a basin, and rubbing in the butter, then mixing with milk.
Roll into an oblong shape 1/4" thick.
Spread with apple pulp mixed with extra brown sugar, lemon rind and cinnamon.
Roll up.
Cut into 2" slices, place cut side down in a prepared tin.
Bake in a hot oven for about 25 minutes.
Serve hot or cold with custard.
