Cook to 260°, then add 1/2 stick butter and cook to 275°.
Add baking soda, stir well and add popcorn.
Coat thoroughly, then melt remaining 1/2 stick of butter and pour over mixture, mixing well.
Be sure to add popcorn to mixture while mixture is on low heat or it will harden too quickly.
Pour onto greased cookie sheets and separate.
Store in airtight container.
