1 envelope unflavored gelatine
1/4 cup cold water
1/2 pound candy caramels
1/2 cup milk, divided
1 cup heavy cream, whipped
1 9-inch baked pie shell

MAKING
1. In a bowl take cold water and soften gelatine by dissolving in it.
2. Add caramels and 1/4 cup of milk to the top of a double boiler and cook it over hot water until caramels melt. Continue stirring the mixture until it becomes smooth.
3. Add softened gelatine to it and stir the mixture until it gets dissolved completely. When the mixture is done remove from heat.
4. Add 1/4 cup of cold milk to the mixture and chill until it attains the texture of unbeated egg whites.
5. Combine caramel mixture with whipped cream and whip it using rotary beater until the mixture gets completely blended.
6. Spread the mxiture over baked pie shell and chill it until firm.
SERVING
7. Serve the pie chilled.
