Caramel Apple Cake Recipe

Ingredients
1 3/4 Cups Flour
1 1/2 Cups Firmly Packed Brown Sugar
1 1/2 Tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 Tsp. Salt
1/2 Tsp. Baking Soda
1/2 Tsp. Baking Powder
1 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
3/4 Cup Butter or Margarine, softened
3 Eggs
1 1/2 Cups Peeled & Diced Apples
1 Cup Chopped Nuts
1/2 Cup Raisins, if desired
Frosting:
1 1/2 Cups Powdered Sugar
1/4 Tsp. Cinnamon
1/4 Cup Butter or Margarine, softened
1/2 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
3 or 4 Tsp. Milk
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
325 degrees for glass dish.
Grease a 13 x 9 inch pan.
Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup and level off.
In a large bowl combine first 9 ingredients & beat for 3 minutes at medium speed.
Stir in apples, nuts and raisins.
Pour into a greased pan.
Bake 30 to 40 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
Let cool.
In a small bowl put the frosting ingredients together & blend until smooth.
Spread over cake.
If using Pillsbury's Best Self-Rising Flour, omit the salt, baking powder and baking soda.
