Candy Apple Pie Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 3/4 cups unsweetened apple juice, divided | ||
| 1/3 cup cinnamon candies | ||
| Vanilla extract | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Red food coloring | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| 4 apples, peeled, cored and sliced (Granny Smith, Rome Beauty or Mcintosh) | ||
| Cornstarch | 3 Tablespoon | |
| 1 KEEBLER® READY CRUST® Graham Cracker Pie Crust | ||
| 1 1/2 cups thawed frozen light whipped topping | ||
| Ground cinnamon | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Directions
In large saucepan, combine 1 1/2 cups juice, candies, vanilla, food coloring and apples.
Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to low and simmer just until apples are tender, about 10 to 15 minutes.
Combine remaining 1/4 cup juice and cornstarch in small bowl.
Stir into apple mixture; continue to cook until mixture boils and thickens.
Cook an additional 2 to 3 minutes.
Remove from heat; cool to room temperature.
Spoon apple filling into pie crust.
Refrigerate several hours or until filling is set.
