Ingredients

 
6 medium sweet potatoes
 
1/4 teaspoonful salt
 
1/3 cupful melted butter or margarine
 
1 cupful brown sugar
 
1/4 cupful water

Directions

Wash and cook the potatoes until tender.
Drain, peel, cut in halves lengthwise and arrange in a shallow greased pan.
Cover with the melted fat and a sirup made by cooking the brown sugar and water together for 5 min.
Sprinkle with salt and bake in a slow oven of 350° F. for 1 hr. basting frequently.
The potatoes should be transparent when done.
