Candied Fruit Cookies Recipe
Ingredients
1 cup vegetable shortening
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk
3 1/2 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cups each chopped candied fruit, dates, and nuts
Directions
Cream together vegetable shortening and brown sugar.
Stir in eggs and buttermilk.
Combine flour and soda; stir into creamed mixture and beat well.
Add fruits and nuts.
Drop from teaspoon 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375° for 12 minutes.
