 Shortening1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Sugar1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Eggs3 , separated
 Fruit2 Cup (16 tbs), candied
 Cake flour1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), sifted
 Salt1/4 Teaspoon

Directions

Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy.
Beat egg yolks until thick and combine with creamed mixture.
Chop candied fruits, mix with flour and salt and add gradually to first mixture, blending thoroughly.
Fold in egg whites beaten until stiff but not dry.
Pour into greased melon mold and steam 1 1/2 hours.
Serve hot with Fluffy Brandy Sauce, for 8.
