Canadian Bacon In Wine Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
| Canadian bacon | 1 pound, sliced | |
| Oil | 1 1/2 Tablespoon | |
| Flour | 1 1/2 Tablespoon | |
| Consommé - 1 10 1/2-ounce can | ||
| Thyme - Pinch | ||
| Sweet basil - Pinch of dried | ||
| Sherry | 2 Tablespoon | |
Directions
MAKING
1. In a skillet cook the canadian bacon for 5 minutes, turning often and remove to a heated serving platter.
2. Discard the drippings, heat the oil in a sauce pan, blend in the flour and brown it slowly.
3. With constant stirring add the consommé and keep the sauce smooth.
4. To the pan add the thyme and sweet basil simmer for 15 minutes over a low flame.
SERVING
5. Straining the sauce, add the sherry, heat through, pour over the bacon slices and serve.
