California Style Marinated Halibut Recipe
Ingredients
| Lime juice | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salad oil | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Sugar | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Oregano leaves | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Red pepper | 1/8 Teaspoon, crushed | |
| 2 canned whole green chilies, seeded and cut crosswise into strips | ||
| 4 small halibut steaks, each 3/4 inch thick | ||
Directions
1. In large glass or stainless-steel bowl, combine all ingredients. Cover and refrigerate 2 hours, turning halibut steaks occasionally.
2. About 30 minutes before serving, preheat broiler if manufacturer directs. Place steaks on rack in broiling pan, reserving marinade. Broil 8 to 10 minutes, until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork, spooning or brushing marinade occasionally on steaks.
