Calico Cheese Cuts Recipe
Ingredients
| Mix package | 1 | |
| Eggs | 2 | |
| 2/3 cup evaporated milk or light cream | ||
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Celery seed | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Pimiento | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| 4 cups shredded sharp process cheese | ||
| 1/4 teaspoon coarse black pepper | ||
Directions
Prepare dough and let rise as directed on mix package.
Beat eggs with milk just to blend.
Add salt, celery seed, pimiento, and cheese.
Divide dough in half.
On lightly floured surface roll to a little less than 1/4 inch.
Pat out each piece very thin in a well-greased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch jelly-roll pan.
Let rise till light (30 to 60 minutes).
Spread the topping evenly on dough, almost to edge.
Sprinkle with pepper.
Bake in hot oven (425°) about 12 minutes.
Snip in 4x2-inch rectangles.
