I must say your hubby's recipe is delicious. When I was a student, I didn't know cooking and it's great if he managed to cook so well with such little ingredients :)

Garlic is a very important herb in almost all of my recipes. Even in this recipe, I would like to add some garlic :)

Great recipe-cabbage is a very healthy veggie! I am surprised there is no garlic in this recipe. I seem to almost always grab some garlic when cooking.

I was thinking roasted or garlic confit with it's subtl sweet flavour. Love cabbage!

Snigdha says :

Yes. you may add some garlic if you wish to, but I have a feeling it may dominate the subtle flavor of the cabbage.

hi snigdha.. this recipe is very simple... i have a mild fetish of adding a pinch of garam masala to everything I fancy...some boiled potatoes would be good in them right?? if we don't wish to make it absolutely quick fix that is... its nice! :)

Hi vegfoodie, this recipe is basically from my hubby's bachelor's days and that is the reason you will find such few ingredients. Yes, if you have the time, a few chopped tomotoes, boiled potatoes, garam masala and dhaniya powder will make the recipe better. But like I mentioned, this particular recipe is for time-crunched people and its tastes pretty good without the extra ingredients :)
