Ham Cabbage Soup Recipe

Ingredients

 Savoy cabbage1 Pound
 Potatoes1/2 Pound, finley diced
 Garlic1 Clove (5gm), finely chopped
 Onion1 , finely chopped
 2 beef bouillon (stock) cubes
 Cooked ham1/2 Pound
 Creme fraiche1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 Lemon juice3 Tablespoon
 Salt To Taste
 Pepper1

Directions

Put 1 cup (250 ml/8 fl oz) of water into the lower compartment of a microwave steamer.
Cover and microwave on HIGH for 3 minutes.
Remove the outer leaves of the cabbage and chop into slices with a large knife.
Rinse and drain the leaves and place in the upper section of the steamer, cover and microwave on HIGH for 5 minutes.
Put the cabbage into a large casserole.
Add the potatoes, garlic and onion and pour on 1 quart (1 litre / pints) of hot water to cover.
Crumble the bouillon (stock) cubes into the mixture and stir well.
Cover and microwave on HIGH for 12 minutes./1 3/4 Cut the ham into cubes and stir into the casserole and microwave for a further 3 minutes on HIGH.
Stir in the sour cream (creme fraiche) and the lemon juice.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Pour into 4 soup plates, add a little more cream to each
