Cabbage and Mushroom Salad Recipe
I love this Cabbage And Mushroom Salad recipe for it brings such rave reviews everytime I make it. It is an effortless Side Dish. It is a Chinese cuisine delicacy. My friends tried this Cabbage And Mushroom Salad the other day and they simply adored it. Do I need to say more?
Ingredients
500 gms. cabbage, preferably Chinese cabbage
5 dried Chinese mushrooms, soaked in hot water for 30 minutes
1/2 cup bamboo shoots, sliced into matchstick thin strips
2 capsicums, shredded
2 green chillies chopped
1 tbsp. sugar
3 tbsps. vinegar
1 tbsp. soya sauce
2 tbsps. tomato puree
3/4 cup water
1 tsp. salt
4 tbsps. sesame oil
1/2 cup oil
Directions
Take the centre part of the cabbage out.
Cut into 2" long pieces.
Put the cabbage into boiling water for 5 minutes.
Drain well and place the cabbage in a serving bowl.
Sprinkle salt.
Heat the oil in a large frying pan.
Add bamboo shoots, mushrooms, capsicums and chilli.
Saute for 2 minutes.
Add sugar, vinegar, salt, soya sauce, tomato puree and sesame oil.
Stir well for 1 minute and add water and simmer for 3-4 minutes.
Mix well and pour over the hot cabbage and serve.
