Cabbage Rolls Recipe
All I can say about this Cabbage Rolls is YUM! Vegetable is the most important ingredient in Cabbage Rolls. I just love Snack recipes and this dish is my only favorite amongst them. I shall look forward to your comments on this recipe.
Ingredients
12 red cabbage leaves
Boiling water
1 tbsp vinegar
1 tbsp oil
1 tbsp butter
1 1/4 lbs ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 egg, beaten
1 cup cooked rice
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp thyme
3 cups tomato juice
1/4 cup cold water
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp brown sugar
Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions
Preheat oven to 3 50 °F (175 °C).
In a casserole dish, place cabbage.
Cover with boiling water.
Fold in vinegar.
Simmer 10 minutes.
Drain.
In a skillet, heat oil and melt butter.
Lightly fry ground beef and onion.
Off heat, fold egg and cooked rice into mixture.
Season.
On a flattened cabbage leaf, place 1/4 cup (60 mL) beef mixture.
Roll sausage like.
Secure with a toothpick.
Repeat for a total of 12 rolls.
Transfer cabbage rolls to an ovenproof dish.
Pour tomato juice, water and lemon juice over rolls.
Season with brown sugar, salt and pepper.
Cover.
Cook in oven 1 hour.
