Cabbage In White Wine Recipe
Ingredients
| 6 tablespoons goose fat, bacon fat, or olive oil | ||
| 1 large head cabbage, coarsely shredded | ||
| Onion | 1 Small, sliced | |
| 1 cup very dry white wine or vermouth | ||
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | To Taste | |
Directions
Heat fat in large heavy skillet or deep pan over medium heat.
Put cabbage in it and cook, turning several times, until it is lightly browned.
Season with salt and pepper.
Add onion and white wine.
Turn down heat and simmer, covered, until cabbage is soft and well blended, stirring occasionally.
Makes 4 servings.
