Butterscotch"Pie Recipe
Ingredients
1/3 cup flour
1/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
2 cups scalded milk
1/8 tsp salt
3 egg yolks
11/2 tbsp. butter.
1 tsp. vanilla
1 baked Pastry Shell
1 recipe meringue
Directions
Combine flour, sugars, and -hot milk gradually to make smooth mixture, add salt, and cook.in top of double boiler for 15 min-utes, stirring occasionally until .thickened.
Pour .part of hot mixture over egg yolks, combine, and pour back into double boiler.
Cook not more than 3,minutes, stirring constantly add butter.
Cool.
Add vanilla.
Pour into pastry shell, coyer with meringue, and bake in slow oven (325 F.) about 15 minutes, or until browned.
