Brown sugar- 3/4 cup
 
Flour- 5 tablespoons
 
Salt- 1/2 teaspoon
 
Milk- 2 cups
 
Egg yolks- 2, slightly beaten
 
Butter- 2 tablespoons
 
Vanilla- 1 teaspoon
 
Pastry Shell- 1 baked
 
Whipped cream- as required

Directions

MAKING
1.Combine sugar, flour and salt and stir in milk slowly.
2.Cook over boiling water until thickened, stirring constantly.
3.Cover and cook 10 minutes longer, stirring occasionally.
4.Add mixture to egg yolks, stirring vigorously: cook 1 minute longer.
5.Add butter and vanilla and cool.
6.Place filling in pastry shell and cover with whipped cream.
SERVING
7.Serve with vanilla ice cream
