Butterscotch Pie Recipe

Ingredients
6 tablespoonful butter
1 1/2 cupful brown sugar
2 1/2 cupful scalded milk
2 eggs, separated
3 tablespoonful cornstarch
1/4 teaspoonful vanilla

Directions
Melt the butter and brown sugar together, and cook until a rich brown.
Then add the scalded milk and let heat until the sugar is dissolved.
Beat the egg-yolks slightly, add the cornstarch and pour the milk mixture over it gradually, stirring constantly.
Add vanilla, pour into the pastry lined pie plate and bake as in One Crust Pies above.
Cover with a meringue using the egg whites.
