Butterscotch Chews Recipe

| Firmly packed light brown sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Butter | 4 Tablespoon, melted | |
| Egg | 1 , beaten | |
| Vanilla | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Cornflakes | 2 Cup (32 tbs) |

Directions
Stir in brown sugar, melted butter or margarine, egg and vanilla until well blended.
Stir in 1 1/2 cups of the cornflakes.
Spread in a greased baking pan, 8x8x2.
Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup cornflakes over top; press in firmly.
Bake in moderate oven (350°) for 30 minutes, or until firm on top.
Cool completely in pan on a wire rack.
Cut in quarters lengthwise, then crosswise.
