Butterscotch Cookies Recipe

1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
 
3/4 cup butter or margarine
 
2 eggs
 
1 tablespoon vinegar
 
1 teaspoon vanilla
 
1 cup evaporated milk
 
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
 
1 teaspoon baking soda
 
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
 
1/2 teaspoon salt
 
1 cup chopped walnuts
 
Golden Glow Frosting

Directions

Cream sugar and butter till light.
Add eggs; beat well.
Add vinegar and vanilla to evaporated milk.
Stir together dry ingredients; stir into creamed mixture alternately with milk.
Stir in chopped nuts.
Drop by rounded tablespoons 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350° till golden brown, 10 to 12 minutes.
Cool.
Frost with Golden Glow Frosting.
Top with walnut half, if desired.
Makes 78.
Golden Glow Frosting: In saucepan cook 1/2 cup butter over medium heat till bubbly and golden.
Add 3 cups sifted powdered sugar; stir in enough boiling water to make spread-able (about 1/4 cup).
Beat till smooth.
