Butterscotch Bread Recipe
Ingredients
2 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup raisins
1 egg, unbeaten
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup sour milk
1 tablespoon shortening (melted)
Directions
Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt; add nuts and raisins.
Combine egg, brown sugar, milk and melted shortening.
Pour into flour mixture and stir just enough to moisten.
Turn into greased and floured pan and bake at 350° F. for 40 to 50 minutes.
