Directions
1 To make the sauce: put the butter, sugar and syrup into a 600ml/1 pint (2 1/2 cup) ovenproof glass jug, and microwave on full power for 1 minute.
2 Stir and microwave on full power for 1 1/2 minutes.
3 Stir in the milk, reserving 1 tablespoonful. Microwave on full power for 2 1/2 minutes.
4 Cream the cornflour (cornstarch) with the remaining milk. Pour heated liquid onto mixed cornflour (cornstarch) and beat well.
5 Microwave on full power for 1 minute, or until boiling. Beat well with a balloon whisk.
6 Slice the bananas, arrange them in a dish and sprinkle with lemon juice if used.
7 Pour the sauce over to coat and microwave on full power for 1 1/2 minutes.
