Buttermilk White Cake Recipe
This buttermilk white cake is a baked vanilla flavored buttermilk cake prepared with flour and sugar. I love th mingles flavor of buttermilk with vanilla in this simple dessert cake. Easyto prepare, it can be served after any family dinner.
Ingredients
| All purpose flour | 2 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Baking powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Baking soda | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
| Buttermilk | 1 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/2 cup soft shortening, margarine or butter | ||
| Vanilla | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Egg whites | 4 | |
Directions
Stir together dry ingredients.
Add buttermilk, shortening and vanilla and beat 2 minutes.
Add egg whites and beat 2 more minutes.
Pour batter into 2 (9 inch) round pans (greased and floured).
Bake in 350°F oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
